When you get your design up and running for both the thermal device and the high heat alarm, give us a shout as I for one will be interested in building my own (if you are agreeable). I doubt very much that Dometic is going to incorporate a thermal device, at least the first time through as not being cost effective.(Corporate speak for let's try out the populace and see how many fail/burn this time)
With your HT alarm, will you want to trip the electrics and shut off the gas? When we travel with our unit, we often spend the day away and really would prefer not being met by a smoldering pile of ashes on our return. A reefer full of spoiled goods is much preferrable to a burn up.
