I have a Model 2652 which is part of the recall. It stopped cooling last fall. I came across this thread researching how to troubleshoot the problem myself. I have determined that there is indeed a hole in the boiler tube resulting in the loss of coolant. The strange part is that I measured the resistance of the electric heater and recorded 22 ohms. According to the info on this thread the resistance should be 44 ohms. I considered the fact that my meter or myself could be in error so I had my local electrical inspector verify the reading with his meter and it is 22 ohms. This means that the element is 600 watts. No wonder it burned a hole in the tube. I am really po'd that now I am going to be out the cost of a new refrigerator when obviously the heater is defective which caused it to burn a hole in the tube. My new one for sure will not be a Dometic.
