Frank, That is a pretty inventive idea, but the $30 element from RV Mobile is a much cleaner solution and not a lot different in cost. Those dimmers are not the most reliable things from a failure standpoint. After taking my heater out I can see how easy it is to do the change. You might wait until someone gets their RV Mobile heater and sees if it is as advertised. On this thread some have reported that Dometic sold heaters that said 325 W and they were actually 354 W or so. I have ordered an RV Mobile element and will find out in a few days. On the other hand maybe you should order yours now before the rush.
