I have been following this thread for the past 4 months. There is much valuable information given from very talented,informed, and innovative persons.
I have ordered the replacement heat element and will install it within the next 2 to 3 weeks. As suggested, I will install it in the 12vdc element pocket.
Then I will get the patch from Dometic, per recall, to prevent a fire.
However, I do have a question. If my fridge develops a leak after the rework, will my rv insurance pay for the replacement cost? I am sure that Dometic will not!
Edit: Correction, will my long term RV appliance repair insurance pay for it?
