Now I need advice.
I put in my new heater element (from RVmobile.com) into the refrig's DC heater sleeve. At home, I often plug my 5th wheel into a 15amp outlet in my back yard. This outlet is ground fault protected. The new heater starting working, the vent stack got hot, refrig started cooling and everything was working ok. About an hour later, I went to check and found that the ground fault breaker had tripped. I decided to move the RV from my 15amp outlet to my 30 amp outlet. About an hour later I went back to the RV and the refrig check light was on. I turn the refrig off and then on, the check light comes on after a minute or so.
I decided to put the old element back into the refrig. Check light still comes on.
I turned the gas on and the refrig works ok on gas. Check light does not come on.
So, what happened? Did the new heater short and damage my logic board in the AC heater controls? I also checked the 5 amp fuse. It is ok. And, the 3 amp looked ok.
I appreciate any comments and suggestions.
