Actually, the line voltage was 118.6 VAC. I decided the extra 1.4 volts wouldn't make enough difference to matter, so I did nothing to compensate for that. For my watt calculations I multiplied the actual amp reading by 120. The end result of 315 watts may be a little skewed, but shouldn't be off by more than a few watts.
After testing and going over this in my head, it's now my belief that these new Dometic elements have been carefully redesigned and are in the lower end of the acceptable wattage range. Due to the heavy financial losses they've suffered due to the previous elements, I suspect quality control will be carefully monitoring these for some time to come.
For the record, I tested the 295W element and do not recommend it be used as a replacement. It's hot spot extends down lower than the new 325W elements and IMO could aggravate the sensitive area where the weld terminates. Tim
