Thermistor simulators test set from Dinosaur is about $44. They can be checked with a DMM too.
I have never cleaned mine, inspected but never cleaned.
ALL the "testers" do is verify the refer runs on LP/120. Does NOT do anything for the OP's complaint. A QUALIFIED RV tech does not need such a tester. A Voltmeter/12 volt test light and a clamp on ampmeter is all he needs to quickly diagnois operation on LP/120/dc, but NOT cooling. There is NO tester to verify cooling ability. A bad Thermister WILL test good. Doug
