Dometic RM1350 refrigerator not cooling properly

What is the outside temp? Is the fridge on shady side or in sun? Do you have fan(s) in rear to exhaust heat?

We had similar problem, changed to Whirlpool, problem solved. I realize this may not be an option for you, but the above questions are inherent for an RV fridge. Good luck

Put any fan you have in the outside vent and see if this helps. The temp of the freezer at the bottom of the back wall has to be below 15 degrees inorder for the refer to get cold enough. If mounted in a slide then you need to rework the baffles to improve the air flow plus fans.

to clarify/paraphrase this post,what i believe he is saying is dump the absorption(RV fridge) and change to a Whirlpool(compressor fridge),problem solved.these questions(problems) are inherent for an absorption(RV fridge).

Freezer & fridge not cooling enough is usually lack of proper venting or cooling unit blockage.

Venting:
Open outside access, clean any debris, check for obstructions, check top vent for blockage...install couple of 12v DC fans (computer fans) to push heat out thru top vent

Cooling Unit:
Not much can be done if blockage is happening except replace with an Amish built cooling unit or replace fridge with a 'residential' fridge.

1. HAS it operated correctly for the past 3 years?
2. IS this in a slide room?
3. IF in a slide room the rear cooling fans (you have them) may not be operating and if so and in a slide room it will require an extra fan at the top access door. ALL 1350 models in a slide room require the upper extra fan but most OEM's do not install them. Doug

Agree with statements above. For reference our 1350 is in a slide & has two fans as referenced by Doug. We routinely get the main box down to 35f and often go back to a setting of 3. Lettuce freezes in the crisper. If it's in the mid 90's outdoors then we only get to 38 or 39f. In addition to suggestions above, you could check the door seals. We have developed the habit of always closing the left door 1st, making sure the 'flap' closes properly.
Hungry grandkids also have a negative impact. They like to hang with the door open while staring at the tv....

Ron, I see where you installed a generator... implies you boondock. Putting a a home refer is not a just swap it out. You'll need more batteries and possibly a seperate inverter. Getting the units in and out may be a problem as they may not fit through the door.
If you buy ice cream in rectangle cartons and put it on the bottom against the back wall it will be solid as that is the coldest part of the refer.
