Dometic Refrigerator Question

Question

I just purchased a new motorhome and when the refrigerator kicks on there is a humming sound.  I had a Dometic in our fifth wheel and never heard any noise from that unit.  It does the same thing in both electric and gas mode.  Does anyone know what this noise might be.

Does it have a fan?  Otherwise I wouldn't know.Brian

could be a fan in the frig ,OR a exhaust fan in the stack.

If your frig is vented on the roof then "normally" there is not a fan but if it's vented to the side of the coach, you should have a fan.  We are presently waiting on a new frig because ours broke..lol...due to not having a fan to cool it off.  Yes, ours is vented from the side of the camper.  New frig should be here tomorrow and installed Monday and it's also a Dometic.  That is what Dometic told us via dealer doing warranty work.

Some new units now come with residential models.  Could it be the compressor?Ooops.noise on gas, it can't be a residential.
