Dometic refrigerator

Chris, so I can make sure I have this correct. What is the white box called and what is the part that makes the spark called so I know what it is when I order them and do you have any suggestions where the best place to order them? Thanks

We are trying to check everything to rule out the computer board. We have 12 volt going to the re-ignitor box and 7.5 volt going to the ignitor plug. I am hoping it is just the ignitor not sparking but trying to rule out the most expensive parts.

To obtain ignition you need 3 things
Fuel, Air and Spark

Air you got
Spark you can observe (And likely have but observe it,, if it is not sparking you need a new control board)
FUEL however..DO YOU HAVE GAS (I assume you checked the tank and main vlave)

For gas to flow, assuming you have Propane and the main valve is option, and if you have an xplosive gas (propane) detector it is turned on (IF it has a switch) or to make it easier the furnace and stove top and water heater (on gas) all work. Then you have the gas solenoid and the burner orifice.

There is a spider that likes to nest in the oriface.

I would guess the reignitor itself is bad- they are pretty reliable, but they do fail.
Don't pay more than ~$40 for one- online prices go from $25 - arm & leg.

I appreciate all your help. I will have my husband check this tonight and probably post any questions we might have then. So what are you thinking could be the problem? We know we are getting 12 volts to the re-ignitor and only 7.5 coming out. I really don't know what to think could be wrong. Thanks. We don't want to buy an unnecessary part because the camper place won't take them back.

I don't think the re-ignitor makes that sound. Does it continually make a sound and how do we check it?

The click you hear is probably the gas valve opening- the reignitor will make a snap or tick type sound- repeating until the check light comes on (this if the high voltage lead is disconnected).

When someone pushes the button to gas only while someone is outside you can hear the click at the re-ignitor. But then you don't hear the click, click, click. So what you are telling me is that the ignitor or the part that sparks at the burner is bad? Thanks
