First off......stop flipping/flopping/turning fridge upside down.
The ammonia does not crystallize. The sodium chromate (rust inhibitor) is what would crystallize from overheating. IF it does it is permanent -----will NOT go back into suspension ---and it plates out on the inside of tubing.
All the turning upside down does nothing..........except make you think you have done something.
When you turn gas knob from low to med to high and nothing happens then rotary switch or gas valve is bad.
Flame doesn't change height from low to high is reason it will not cool on propane. Low flame is great for keeping gas burning but until it can increase in height (increase flow/increase BTUs) it will do nothing more than burn a little propane.
