Dometic toilet seal lube?

I need to lube the seal on my Dometic toilet, the waste valve does not close all the way sometimes. I have cleaned the seal and that helped but now need to put a little lube. What have you'll used for lube on the waste seal of a Dometic toilet?

NAPA used to carry it, 3M brand. I'm still on my 1st can, so don't know if they still do.

  • silicone spray, silicone lube, dielectric grease, all seem to work for us. whatever is handy in the trailer.
  • I read once that you should use a silicone grease, but as I haven't found silicone grease I have used silicone spray. Ours is a Thetford and I've used the spray on it and also on the dump valves which really makes them operate smoothly. And no problems with either now for quit a few years.
  • I use plummer's grease (silicon grease). Or that dielectric grease you get at automotive stores for lubing electrical joints like spark plug wires.

for me it is plenty slippery, lubes well and aids sealing, and lasts a lot longer than the things i used to use out of the kitchen.
  • Make sure to clean where the valve closes with a good brush to get any residue or clumps out.
  • :S

I initially read this as "toilet SEAT lube"....

Had me wondering for a second.... ;)
