I finally used round N52 magnets and stainless steel swatches on Quicksilver. Latches break, magnets when recessed a couple of thousandths do not. N52 is a very strong grade of Neodymium magnet. Drill shallow holes in either cabinet or door glue the magnet with a very slight recess away from the surface, then glue the thin stainless steel sheet metal swatches to the other side. 18-8 is magnetic and rust resistant. Undersink cabinet doors have a pair. I use that no-slip plastic matting inside cabinets on the deck. I must have bought ten rolls of it when Costco used to carry it. Loo for the magnets on eBray. Smaller diameter but thicker is better. Reinforce drawer and cabinet handles. How strong is this system. A full length trip down Mexico with a lower cabinet STUFFED with canned goods stayed shut. That's saying something!
