Thanks for the input everyone.
I think I will remove a glide and take it apart to see what the design is, as a couple still work.
I am very picky about detail and doing things right, so as such, I am not interested in plastic catches or ropes and elastics and the like. I want to be able to grab the drawer and open it without fiddling with a release mechanism.
These drawers have a very good quality ball bearing glide, there are no plastic catches or anything there.
I do like the idea of the recessing a magnet and putting a plate in there, if I can't get replacement glides with a stop built in.
Brian, your black push latch link looks like an idea too. Thanks for that. And yours too Harold.

I don't mind if I have to spend an entire day on it to get it done right. I've been rebuilding and fixing stuff since I was a puppy so I'm up for the task.
Ideally I want the glides have the stops built in as it seems they may have been 10 years ago.
