Oil (longer hydrocarbon chain contaminants) are common in liquid LP.
If you have a liquid tap on your tank (common for many liquid LP generators), yes contaminants are not uncommon.
But these longer hydrocarbon do not vaporize at normal temperatures, so more unusual to find them from the VAPOR TAP which is what all RV appliances run on.
And, yes, if you do have a problem, Chris's solution is the proper one.
