we have 4 panels (420W). There are dozens of holes, but nothing leaks. Our batteries are up front where the bedroom is located. Most people have hanging closets on each side of the bed where the cables can hide; we don't, but we ran the wires there anyway. We don't even remember they are there. This was the shortest distance to run the wires for the panels. Our controller is located in the pass through below the bed - the wire run is maybe 12' from panel to batteries (panels to controller - 7', controller to batteries - 4').
We typically use about 50AH from sun down to sun up. It takes our panels less than 3 hours to fully recharge the batteries in mostly sunny conditions.
