Drilling thru roof for solar mounts: risk of leakage?

I like the plumbing vent solution the best (since they have no fridge vent on the roof). Not to avoid possible (unlikely) leak, but to minimize things on the roof that might fail. In Southern states with a lot of UV plastics and rubber don't fare well, becoming brittle.

Few people said this already, - controller should be placed as close to the battery as possible. For panel-controller wire the length is less important, but controller-battery wire should be made short and beefy.
