There are already holes for a cable - fridge and plumbing vents. It almost looks like people "want" to drill that extra hole for a cable, and the one that is not plugged tight with the screw, and with additional fixture on the roof :) ... Whatever makes you happy...
Nah, the frig and vent holes are just not in the right place in my trailer. I want the controller in the front pass thru near the batteries. It would be a lot more trouble running the cables down through the rear frig or rear and mid plumbing vents, extract them from there and go down through the floor, under the trailer up to the front, back up through the floor into the pass-thru.
Much simpler to just run them on the roof, then through the roof up front into the clothes cupboards and straight down to the pass thru.
Those Amazon mounts linked above also include a little plastic cable box that would be perfect for going through the roof. And I do believe you could just glue that down. Would hesitate to just use glue with the panel mounts though. You're just gluing it to the rubber roofing material which can rip away fairly easily I think.
