It's not really any different then wiring a generator into a house (with a main safety that only allows gen or utility power) except for the fact the converter will likely cause a problem. I understand we could plug directly into the inverter, but the DC side of the system is on the opposite side of the trailer.
You can power a single branch circuit with a $50 transfer switch or integrate with the main cord with a $100 switch.
Yes pulling wire can be a PITN.
Consider a small 150w or 300w inverter mounted behind the 120v-12v distribution panel. Use the main battery connection for 12v power and a small transfer switch to connect to a branch circuit. No pulling wire, just make connections. This will not work with a 1000w inverter as the wire is too long and too thin.
