Battery capacity and solar are probably the best solutions to running a compressor fridge in these new units. Excessive generator running shouldn't be a problem if those first two items are installed.
FWIW, I run a small dorm fridge with 300AH of capacity and 235W of solar. I also have 120v entertainment devices. I'm usually good for a few days of powering everything without utility or generator power. That is adhering to the 50% SOC rule. If I choose to run below that, I can stretch out to a week or so. One more big panel and two more batteries or upgrading my AGM bank will mean infinite running of what I have now as long as Mr Sun cooperates. On longer trips, even if it's cloudy, the truck helps charge the batteries. I try to stay away from running a generator at all times.
