So, I use a residential fridge in the trailer too:
Fridge: 4.2 cu ft apartment/dorm (make escapes me, LG?), 4-6Amp start and about 1Amp run
Inverter: Xantrex 1KW PSW w/ remote
Batteries: 4x Trojan T-105 6V, total @ 12V is 450Ah (20hr rate)
Charger: PD9280
Solar: 3x 125W panels, total 375W, Blue Sky Energy MPPT controller
With all that minus the solar, I can run the fridge on the inverter, stereo, ham radios, lights at night, and maybe cell phone charger for a total of 36 hours before a recharge is required (battery bank @ 50%). With the solar operating, if we get good sunshine, I don't need the genset at all, and can last for 3-4 days (and maybe more).
So yes, a residential fridge in a trailer is easily doable, just keep an eye on the battery bank, and have a good recharge source or 2 (like solar and a genset as backup). Bigger fridges need more power so just plan according.
Cheers!
