Dually Valve Kits, Tire Man Ridgecrest or Borg ? ?

John Wayne the Borg is the one to purchase if I ever want to add TPMS. This is what their web site states. TPMS: All of our valve stems in the Dually valve kit can accommodate TPMS Sensor Caps, that go on the end of the valve stem. Dick

But will the air through caps work if later you want to put on tire pressure sensors.

They're "airless" because they don't press the actual valve stem till you push the air gauge or air chuck onto them. Till then, they provide a secondary seal against Air Loss and Dirt Entry.

I can see where if you ran in mud, you'd either have to wipe/brush the tips clean before use - or just use quality metal caps with gaskets instead. That's what Borg used to come with, chrome gasketed caps.

My tire checking time is well under 5 minutes unless the vinyl covers are still on or I go under the bed to check the spare.

Remember, with Tire-Man or Borg valves, tire checking is simply checking. Unless you picked up a puncture, there is no air loss for months at a time. Too bad in a way because checking is so easy it's just about fun.

What is the advantage or disadvantage of Tire Man air thru the caps. I have always been a believer in having good valve caps. Dick

Tireman extenders installed almost 7 years ago. One of the best things I did for the MH. Really like the air through caps.

I did have to file slots into the rear wheel chrome simulators to get them on and off past the extenders.

I have Borg but either are probably good. It's one of the better mods I have made.

TireMan. Took me ten minutes this morning to inflate my tires and it only took that long because of the weak compressor at the Kwik Trip air station.

Also talk to Chuck about the proper way to rotating tires on dually vehicles.

If you are going to be in Ridgecrest I would have Chuck install them, just give him a call, he is a great guy.

If not I would pick his over the Borg ones.

With his you get the original ones that he designed and you get 6 with air thru caps, instead of 4 from Borg with no caps.

I have had mine for awhile and am very pleased with them.

I can check them all in less than 10 min. and it is very easy.

One of the best Mods that I have had done.

We have Borg. At the time I bought ours, there was a good deal through Six Robbleesbut their price kept going up. Reached a point where Tire-Man looked like the better deal. Borg used to just offer the rear valves while Tire-Man's kit was six valves and air-through caps.
I really don't think there's much difference if any between the actual valves. Pays Yer Money Takes Yer Choice.
