We have a single ducted unit but you can open the vent on the bottom of the unit to bypass the ducts and yes, it puts out a lot more cold air.
My Brisk II doesn't allow a complete by-pass of the ductwork.

Yes, there is a grate on the bottom side of the unit. If closed, the air goes thru the ducts (and it's a bit quieter) but if you open the grate, it dumps the cold air directly out the grate.
Usually only need to do it mid-day when the sun is beating on the trailer on hot days. At night, we use the duct to keep the bedroom cool.
Not sure if you could get a replacement cover that allows this with your unit.
