We have a single ducted unit but you can open the vent on the bottom of the unit to bypass the ducts and yes, it puts out a lot more cold air.
My Brisk II doesn't allow a complete by-pass of the ductwork.

Usually only need to do it mid-day when the sun is beating on the trailer on hot days. At night, we use the duct to keep the bedroom cool.
Not sure if you could get a replacement cover that allows this with your unit.
On units with properly constructed, designed ductwork from the RV manufacturer, a good thing. However, for those with apparently less efficient ductwork (like mine) that restricted air (even with the grate "open") may be put to much more effective use by not going through the ductwork (and grate) at all.
Which brings me back to my original point. It you're happy with your ducted system's cooling, great. If not, one may want to consider temporarily removing the shroud (as a test) to see if overall cooling improves. If it does improve, then one has the option of removing the restrictive grate assembly to allow ALL the air from the evaporator to exit directly down and out (through the shroud) into the room (bypassing the ductwork).
