- There are no parts available from Carrier. You can try and search, but there are parts only available from salvage type companies that purchased the inventory of Carrier and distributors that carried Carrier RV A/C parts. NOT worth fixing. RVP (Coleman) has a kit to adapt their RV A/C units to carrier and that is the way to go. Doug
- big_bufordExplorerMy carrier is an 06 vintage. I cleaned the evaporator coil about a year and half ago. The plastic housings that snap together were about shot, lucky to get it back together without it falling apart in my hands due to brittle plastic. Will be time to replace if i ever have a problem unless its something easy from the inside. It will not take disassembly again.
- HuntindogExplorerWell, for the most part its not cost effective to repair any of them.
Only the most simple things are worth it... But they are all pretty reliable too. So I wouldn't lose any sleep over it. - dspencerExplorerAt this point i am not in need of replacing the AC. I had a minor problem last week and was able to get a used squirel cage fan blade and i'm back running. My question was where can a guy get parts for a Carrier now or if i'm S.O.L. next time. I can just hope and pray i don't have any more problems till i get rid of it.
- wa8yxmExplorer IIICarrier got out of the business.. I have my suspiscions as to why.
In addition to the Coleman rooftop unit.. Advent Air makes one as well.
I replaced my Carrier Air V (13,500 BTU) with an Advent 15,000 BTU, same power draw.
The Advent adapt-a-kit requires you replace one molex connector on the Carrier Control box.. They include the connector and very clear instructions. - The_TexanExplorerNot quite sure what the whole story is, but I have been told that Advent Air is a direct replacement for Carrier. All I can say is call them and see if parts are interchangeable. I do know that friends with the Advent A/C units say they are the best they have ever owned, just as the Carrier folks did.

dspencer, there are no "dumb" questions. Ask whatever you like, and may be you just learn what its that you wanted to know. Good luck with your A/C.
