  • What I meant was just the hard start or the run capacitor too . I don't know that much about the hard start. Here's the numbers I've found.
    Part# 3100248511 run/fan capacitor when I searched it I got.
    49-919210/60mfd370vac
Part# for the hard start is 3106732005 . I ran this numbers through the comercial ac parts store here they don't handle rv ac they would have to order on line so we have one little rv store here so I got the them to order both they will be here Monday or Tuesday . Sounds like from the post here its probably the fan run capacitor but I'm going to do both. Thanks everybody

One of my friends ac is having a hard time starting its got a hard start for the motor and some fan caps on it . Can I jut install the hard start on it.

I don't get your question. You say your friend's AC has a "hard start for the motor..." Then you ask, can you just install a "hard start on it." Huh???

Are you asking to install a bigger hard start capacitor than the existing "hard start" capacitor already on the Box?

Also, if you are going to install a HS Cap, I highly suggest the Supco SPP6E model as depicted in the link below.

  • I don't know mex I just listened to him start the ac and heard it bogging at first and he told me it had kicked the breaker a few times . He lives pretty far in the country I did not want to pull it apart with no parts to far out there .
  • I'm not sure if its the hard start or the run cap I have not checked them probably just replace both . Thay are about 55.00 for both thanks
  • Mine did the same thing...how do you know the hard start capacitor is bad? On mine the capacitor blew one of the wire terminals off the cap. I replaced it and was fine from that point on! Good Luck with it.
