I have service manuals for that on my service manual page- there are two for the 4 button, a full, and a quick troubleshooting. The easiest way to test the cable and power over the cable is by using a phone jack- plug the cable in to it and you have easily accessed wires. Not that while the cable uses plain phone connectors, the cable is wired as a data cable, not a phone cable. Data cable:
