Mine goes into a defrost mode which shuts off the interior fan and reverses the valve to heat the outside coil by running the compressor only. Pretty sure it’s controlled by the ambient temperature sensor because it doesn’t do it at all temps. Makes a heck of a noise when the valve reverses.
