E15 gasoline incoming...

When an industry/employer is the largest, most important one in any particular state, it's not a 'special interest' as far as that state is concerned. Coal is not a 'special interest' as far as the people of West Virginia are concerned.- In before the thread deletion.
What else should we expect from someone who is all about quid pro quo? - What is happening is the Middle East oil cartel is being replaced with an even worse Corn cartel. With shale oil the US is now the world's leading oil producer, and there is not even any need for ethanol anymore. The ethanol program is sited as a prime example of a program that has out lived it usefulness, but continues just because it's there. Meanwhile, other corn products are through the roof with cost. Next they will be pushing for 20%, and that may raise the cost of cars. There's no end to it, not to mention all the power equipment that can't handle the stronger mixture. When one of the politicians was asked why we still need ethanol, the only reason put forward was "well, they've invested in all that equipment"
- I wonder if we will have a choice at the pump? My gas cap says no E15 right on it. Of course here in the Moon Beam state we will probably be required to run on solar power.

I think E10 will be round for some years due to the older engines being made for no higher than E10.

- It's been around for a while. I use it with no problems in a 2012 GMC flex Fuel engine. Runs fine, Of course I live in a corn state so I almost have to use it.
I remember when they first started using ethanol in gas. How it was going to ruin to every engine destroy the economy . etc. didn't happen then, won't happen now. - It'll work ok in newer cars and trucks. Not so great for certain generators -- my Honda 2000 hates ethanol. It is a full time job keeping those carb jets clean -- fuel additives, running the gen under load once a month, draining the carb every time I use it. Fun!!
And the irony is that I almost never use the gen for real. We just got back from a month of camping in the Rockies. My 120 watt portable solar panel kept us topped up every day -- the generator sat in the back of the truck, waiting for a long cloudy spell that never came.
