We love our electric awning. Wouldn't go back to a manual one for anything. On one of our manual ones, we almost lost the thing to winds and had to get up in the middle of the night to bring one in during a rainstorm. Both user errors, but the convenience of "a touch of a button" has cured all this for us. Yes, we have the dump feature. Saw it in action when cleaning our awning. I was spraying the top with the hose to rinse it off, and boom - it dumps the water slick as can be. Scared me for a minute but it did what it was supposed to do and didn't come in our rig. Seems that maybe the OP here, trying to push the water manually, may have cause a tilt towards the trailer. Just guessing though.
