The 1/4 wrap left will make a flat surface for the water to drain off, instead of the ridge you get if you go all the way out. Having the flat surface makes the water run off instead of pooling.
Love my electric awning and the TIP works...saw it on a SABRE service bulletin.
I actually figured that one out, I crank it in a bit to have a flatter surface. But it will still gather water if I don't pay attention.
