Fifty plus years ago here, the power rate was so low they almost gave it away. Conservation was an unknown word.
Now it is 7.97 cents/KWH for first 1350 KWH and 11.95 cents/KWH after that, plus a 5% rate rider and tax. It's getting more and more expensive with each passing year. There was a 9% increase last year and the current rate is set to increase 28% over the next 5 years. We allegedly have one of the lowest rates in NA, but it sure doesn't feel like it.
That Mexican rate schedule is crazy. If I have the math right, at 350 KWH per 2 months, or 175/month, that's the equivalent of having a constant load of about 240 watts running continuously 24/7. That's sure not much.
