Electric problem

Strange problem to me but I'm no electrician. Plugged into shore power after sitting unplugged all winter all 12v things work. None of the 110v things work. Checked where wires come into converter and meter reads 112v. If I switch on ac I can hear it click but not come on. Any ideals?

  • Whole house inverter?

Batteries are dead, inverter combo is at full load charging batteries
No pass thru on 120v power?

    That's a wild guess
    The basics have been covered

    Manually reset all circuit breakers

Find the transfer switch and slap the box with palm of your hand

Start generator and see if you have power that way

Main breaker sounds good. But none of the branches work EXCEPT for the converter?

    Very strange, but.. Step one
UNPLUG: Then Remove cover from breaker box and check all screws, I mean ALL screws, black, white or bare, make sure they are TIGHT.
  • Like Germania said, check those GFI's. Sometimes they put more non-GFI oulets down a run that has a GFI as the first receptacle, if it trips, all the outlets go dead. Or, another way to look at is all the outlets are protected by the one GFI. Or, the outlet at the end of the run can trip the GFI at the beginning of the run. Hope that makes sense. Its an inexpensive way of providing several GFI outlets.
  • Checked all the breakers there on. Voltage at the 30 amp main breaker is 112 tried to test and reset GFI in bathroom but the buttons seem stiff. Not sure I tripped or reset it. We have a 2008 keystone 30FKD travel trailer. Thanks for the replies.
  • Did you check your circuit breaker(s) to make sure they are not tripped or turned off? A tripped breaker is not always obvious at a glance. When tripped it does not flip to the OFF position. It just moves slightly off of the ON position. Must be turned off and back on to reset it.
  • Vance, what kind of rv do you have. If you put it in your signature, then you will get more specific answers directed towards your particular rv.

  • Check your outlets, 1 or 2 of them will be GFI(reset buttons in center of outlet) reset buttons will probably fix your AC problem
