Electric steps
My steps move in and out rapidly before stopping in correct position . Any ideas? My coach is 2011 Thor Windsport 32a. The info the steps : Coach Step by LCI

some operate from internal microswitch.. activated by cam
others operate from a circuit board that senses and controls Torque (amps to the motor)
yours sounds like a control board problem - One idea I don't have.....
What Make & model of steps?
