OK to be completely safe against lightning how many times should I coil an electrical cord around my camper and how many amps need to be moving thru it???
Come on now, y'all should know this by now. There is a simple, and straight forward answer to this! Applying Trashburninginthefirepit's law: the number of turns is inversely proportional to the sum of the length of the camper (on one side) and the number of margaritas ingested by the owner. However, there is a circuit (invented by 2oldman) that cancels out the effects. This circuit is known as a quasi-complimentary symmetery, chopped transient blanking astable multivibrator (with regenerative feedback) circuit.
I have installed one my camper power cord and have had no further problems.

You need to unplug and run the end up your flag pole
This also helps since the open end provides a high impedance termination (which is DIRECTLY proportional to the length of your flagpole).
