Add a 30a transfer switch between the rear a/c and the power center.
Default connection will be the load center and all works as oem.
Active connection connect to a 5-15 inlet. When powered up the transfer switch will isolate the circuit to the extension cord plugged into the 20a pedestal connector.
Unless the control is integrated with the thermostat..... good luck on that.
Although with actual power coming separate it may still work.
