electrical issue

I purchased a new rockwood signature ultralight 5th wheel 8282ws yesterday. I have it hooked to a 50 amp service over night at my home as we were storing all of out gear for trip. this morning there is absolutely no power in the camper. I tested the power to the plug and all is well, no breakers are tripped in the camper. the lights on the umbilical cord are lit also. battery had 5.2 vdc so no charging for awhile. I did have both ac's running last night in auto just to make sure everything is fine for a long trip. Glad I did as I see now there is some issue. can anyone help here?
thanks

  • Sounds like the battery disconnect switch is off. When off, the batteries will not charge. If plugged into shore power, everything would work inside, but the battery won't get any charging voltage.
  • With low voltage the battery is compromised or bad. Have it load tested at a auto store.

Measure the AC and DC voltage at the charger and track down the problem from there.

As a short term compromise use a auto charger to charge the batteries.

Was everything OK during the PDI and how long ago was that? If it's new as in brand new take it back to the dealer.

Are you sure no breakers are tripped? When a breaker trips the handle does not flip over go the off side. It just moves a little off of the on side. Sometimes hard to tell just by looking.

x2 You have to turn off a tripped breaker before resetting/turning on. Its possible that your main breaker has tripped, both a/c s cycling on at the same time, the converter trying to charge batteries, the fridge etc.
Keep a good check on your batteries water. 5.2 volts in each 6 volt battery, not good. 5.2 volts in a 12 volt battery NOT good.
