Electrical Problem

Hello all

I have never posted here so if I'm doing something incorrect please let me know and I will fix it.

I have a 2009 Forest River Shock Wave 22' toyhauler. My fuel guage and fuel station pump stopped working. My generator starts and dies like its running out of fuel, check fuses and breakers, nothing wrong. Took the panel off next to the breakers and all of my common wires are burned. They all go into a block and the plastic insulator on the block is melted as well. Has anyone ran into this? If so what might cause such a thing to happen? Any thoughts will be very very appreciated!

Thank you for your time!

  • Loose or corroded connections cause arcing.
    Arcing cause heat.
    Heat melts and burns.
  • If the insulation is melted the length of the wired, then it was over loaded. If it's only melted at the end, then that end had a loose connection.
  • Grant, Welcome to RV.net I'm going to move your post over to the Tech Issues forum from Toy Haulers, hoping you get some additional replies and help for your problem. I agree with Donn though could be loose connection but it can be a challenge to track down the problem.

  • Loose connections can cause a lot of heat. But without a thorough inspection there is no way to tell what is going on.
