Electrical Problem

Had a Problem over the weekend with my lights flickering bright to dim rapidly, could hear the converter cycling with the flickering. I thought it was the battery so I started to disconnect it pulling the positive lug before I could even get the negative loosened all the lights in the TT went out and the alarms started beeping I reconnected the batery and lights came back on? is this a converter problem it's a wfco 8900 converter
  • Unfortunately those are classic symptoms of a dying converter.
But I would first check the battery to make sure it isn't shorting internally.

    thanks for quick reply,
Not sure how to check to see if battery is shorting internally. But the TT should still have 12 volt with battery disconnected and pluged in right. I do have a new battery was for another project on golfcart but TT is first.
  • Yes, it should have about 13.6VDC even without the battery.
If the conv. is failing then this would be great time to upgrade to a three stage converter. Your battery will thank you!
