Since you have power out of the GFI go to the next outlet in line and see if there is a wire disconnected there. Check the voltage there. If there is none, there is a break in the wiring between the GFI and the first outlet. With the power off you could use your ohmeter to determine which wire is open. With luck, it's just disconnected.
