Electrician says Motor Homes want 220v

we recently had an electrician wire up a 50-amp receptacle for us. I know these guys well and they've done lots of work for us over the years. I still printed out the correct wiring diagram and made sure the lead electrician had it and reviewed it with me. no issues.
