Hi David,
Yes, I have an 800 watt tiny George Foreman type grill. It is great for up to an 8 ounce steak, and does a good job on things such as hot dogs. I'm cheap on how I use it. The food goes in and when cooking time reaches 50 to 60% I unplug and let the residual heat finish the job. I got mine for $2.00 at a garage sale, but I think they are about $20 brand new. I like my steak rare so I turn on the power for 5 minutes and total cooking time is 10 minutes. Pork Chops I do for seven minutes. The grill browns the meat nicely. It would be pretty useless for chicken. Great for a couple of hamburgers though. In a pinch it will cook the meat from frozen, but I rarely do that.
I found out that steaming eggs is a more reliable way to cook them. As I'm sure you are aware the boiling temperature of water varies with altitude. Seven minutes of steam gives a firm white and runny yolk, no matter the altitude.
I found that cooking in the coffee pot also meant my fingers did NOT get burned. The eggs displaced enough water that there were three generous cups of coffee to serve with the meal. I use reverse osmosis water when ever I can for coffee and cooking.

I love soft boiled eggs. Three-minute variety. But too frequently, things go wrong. Is there a better way to handle a hot egg while preparing it to rest on my wonderful buttered toast?
Scmoozing your thread Don, is there a really good brand of ELECTRIC GRIDDLE with a lid that is appropriate for use in an RV?
