Sure they are initially pricey, but you do not need as much AH, need not worry about top charging and EQ charging or storing them at full charge, and get 5 or 6 times the cycle life of lead acid.
Still. I cannot afford the expenditure, and I still have the screwy 31 to whip to death to satisfy my curiosity. - mena661ExplorerAlso, there's no Peukert to speak of and no big drop in voltage under heavy loads until right ~90% DOD. Smk, no one runs these down to 100% because of the chance of killing them. Running these down to 100 will kill them dead. Most keep it at 80% and above to stay off that voltage drop off.

No management with that price PT. That's just for the battery. There are inexpensive BMS's out there.

Does the price include battery management? Jframpey wrote:
Depends on usage but I think 500 watts or two large panels would do fine.
Wow, I'd need an acre of solar to recharge that... Bigger trailer!
Lithium does not have all the quirky charging nonsense of flooded lead acid such as top charge, equalization and float. Also charging does not slow much toward the end compared to FLA. And while you do need to be very strict about voltages, cycling a Li-Ion at 100% DoD is fine compared to 50% DoD recommended by FLA. So effectively the capacity is double the specs compared to FLA.- pianotunaNomad IIIHi KJ.
Operating temperature is finally in the range I need. Thanks for posting this.
I could effectively replace the banks with about 5 kwh (400 amp hours) of LI as depth of discharge is 80%.
400 amp-hours

It looks like it is price competitive with AGM. - MrWizardModeratorAt 12.4v it is 725.8 amp hrs

- I look forward to a fully electric drive train in about ten more years.
Probably need 500 kWh of battery. - Dakota98ExplorerONLY 252 Lbs. !!!! :S
