Dusty: Hate to talk about what happened, it still makes my blood boil, but here’s the story: In October we had made a trip to Mexico Beach, FL (about a 400 mile round trip) and everything was fine. All the fluid levels checked out and had no trouble. The motorhome sat in the storage warehouse for about a month before we took it to a local auto shop about 5 miles away. It had been a little over a year since the oil had been changed, but we had only put a couple of thousand miles on it. We was planning a month long trip though Florida so it was time for the oil change and misc other stuff like checking brake lines, replacing windshield wiper arms, etc. It drove fine to the shop, but after the shop had it for 3 days and finally finished we drove it home. On the way back it started making that deep knocking noise. I called the shop and he told me to bring it back to him where he told me it must have just spun a bearing. I won’t go into the heated discussion that followed (I would be banned from this forum due to obscene language), but I did have the diagnoses verified by another mechanic.
