Thank you Bob. I grew up with a great Father, but he was not mechanically inclined. I learned real quick when I moved out on my own to work on cars out of survival. Sad thing is Toni and I are not a mechanics, we are parts changers that's changing one BIG part.
The camera is a GoPro on wide setting. We are taking videos so we know how to put the thing back together! I'm an amateur photographer also. Have you checked out the site worth1000.com? They have (or had last I looked) photo contests and an excellent forum for photography tips. I typically shoot with a Canon.
Gee that's a great shot for a GoPro. I've often thought of getting one for doing things like Tough Mudder. Maybe I should look closer at one for fun times!
I too shoot with a Canon. I have a few point & shoots, the best being a G1X.
Also have a 70D and some glass to go with it. The EF-S 10-22 is a nice touch for shots like the one you posted.
As for the worth1000 site, no I've never seen it.
We have had a lot of fun with the GoPro. We have a Hero 4. We have strapped it to the roll bar of the dune buggy when we are out of town ridding around and put together a time lapse video of the town we are in. Plus, with the case, we can take it to the beach and not worry about ruining it. When our 7 & 9 yr old granddaughters came to visit from Houston last spring, we bought each one of them the Hero 3. Before they left, we copied the videos they made and got to see their visit through their eyes. It was good fun.
As far as the Canon, it just a rebel - not as nice as yours, but we do have a few extra lens. We use the 8-16 fisheye for buildings we are involved in the design (we are architectural engineers). I encourge you to checkout the worth1000 site and go to the photography tab. A great resource for photography and you can see past contest. I checked the site today and there is a posting they will be migrating to a new site on Dec 15th.
