For what it's worth, when I run across pesky exhaust nuts and bolts that won't come loose readily, if it's possible, I use my oxygen acetylene torch on the offending part( I know you said bolt)and after it's cherry red, it'll loosen easily.
Ernie, I'm almost embarrassed to say, but I read on Richard's account of changing his engine he used the term "blue tip wrench" which I never heard before. I googled and found the method you are talking about heating the offending part. When we hit the stubborn bolt and after soaking it many times with penetrating oil, I told Toni that I was going to heat it up. She was fearful that I would catch the entire coach on fire, but me with my chest stuck out firmly being the man, told her not to worry. Well you can guess that when the flame heated the oil, the oil started burning off. WE HAD FLAMES EVERYWHERE! I put the torch away after we put the fire out and decided not to use that method again.
The "blue tip wrench" is an Ox/Acetylene cutting torch. I cut the bolt heads off. The header bolts had 12 point heads that take a 3/8" wrench. Those little points rusted off after 10 years. When all else fails, get a bigger hammer or a torch. Brute strength and ignorance shall prevail! See ya at the top of the hill.
Glad you survived the fire.
That new engine is sooooooo purdy! Kinda makes one's testosterone levels rise.
Richard
PS: I has the DW stand close with the fire extinguisher when I fired off the torch.
PPS: If ya want to gamble on low budget ign. coils (COP). This Ebay seller has a set of coils for your 6.8 V10. I installed a set of 8 from this sell for my son's 5.4. So far, no problem.
