I know it would be expensive, but I wonder about taking a FIC door lock apart, 3D scanning it or just inputting the precise measurements of everything into a CAD program, then having a local company that does Iconel metal sintering "print" out a lock. The advantage of this would be that it would be extremely durable, but I'm sure this would be extremely pricy.
Of course, I wonder if it would be possible to go back to the pre-2000s and go back to having a residential deadbolt or even a surface mounted night latch. This wouldn't look pretty, but it would work, year after year.
