If it is THIS alternator, you have a disaster waiting to pounce. The Ford 2-G IAR nightmare. Holy harnesses on fire! The plug-in power harness made me A BUNCH of money back in the day. Look below and see the PUSH ON BATTERY CABLE CONNECTOR. That's right. Push On. No stud and nut. Ford couldn't get away from this design fast enough. It is a legend for underhood fires.

THIS IS WHAT YOU WANT

Bolt for bolt, it is a direct fit. The voltage regulator terminal is the same.
Only ONE change is needed: Cut that stupid rectangular plug off, and fit a standard six gauge by 1/4" ring terminal lug to replace it.
- Ends the fire danger. Not a RISK a sure FIRE FIRE
- The higher amperage model of the small frame Ford 3G is 95 factory rated amps
- The 2G IAR, is 75 amps, when not on fire
- At idle the 3G develops 33 amperes, the 2-G when not on fire ZERO amps.
LOOK! HERE COMES ONE, NOW
