I just paid $112 at a certified Honda repair shop to fix an issue with my EU2000i - it would run and produce some power but would not rev up at all. I don't have the service ticket with me but I think they gave it an oil change (gas in the oil), replaced the spark plug, and cleaned the carb. I am running ethanol free gas in it for the rest of this season...
