Yes. Probably carbon or murder hornet nests ... maybe (hope not) a mouse nest.
Im rooting for carbon.
I looked up muffler construction. Some are just metal chambers, but some also have fiberglass packing.
I also think auto shops get parts dip cleaned on a regular basis
